How long do your field box batteries last? A season, maybe season and 1/2 at best? The reason is simple. Common motorcycle battery chargers and trickle chargers available at auto-parts and hardware stores are really pretty low quality units. Never is there any true voltage regulation in them. They either hold the battery in a state of overcharge which causes the plates to become exposed to the air or they keep them in a state of undercharge which causes the lead plates to sulfate. Are you ready for a top quality tool? The Ace CVC (Constant Voltage Charger) is a 110 volt charger for all 12V and 6V lead-acid batteries. The CVC delivers a constant 400mah HI charge rate for 90% of the charge cycle and then tapers to a 15mah trickle charge rate. The output voltage is strictly regulated to 14.2 volts (7.1 for 6 volt batteries). This allows a safe full charge of any 6V or 12V wet cell, sealed lead acid, or gel cell battery. No need to worry about overcharging and ruining your 12V starting battery when using the CVC. Charge with confidence! Comes complete with alligator clip battery connectors. Get optional banana plugs below and replace alligator clips so that you can plug directly into your power panel/field box.
