The LiPoChecker Pro8s is a voltage checker and a balancer / equalizer for LiFP+Lion+LiPo Lithium batteries combined in one device. Eight separate circuits allow the LiPoChecker pro to balance battery packs up to 8s and a maximum charging voltage of 4.23 V per cell. This can be done preferably during charging, but also afterward or during a full test of the battery pack. The LiPoChecker pro universal connector system (16pin header), known from Personal Computers, is easily available and allows an easy adaptation to common connector systems, such as Graupner, robbe, Thunderpower, Tanic, Polyquest etc. Ready-to-use adapters are available from Orbit electronic. An additional SIO feedback line allows voltage data of the individual cells to be sent to the Orbit POCKETLADER or MICROLADER battery chargers. Arno informs us of many small extra improvements also included, not yet documented. Some of them are:
Support for Tadiran cells (Lithium Metal) has been dropped, as these cells have not been manufactured for over 3 years now.
Discharging NiMH and NiCad cells to 1V per cell (in the past: 0,9 V)
Discharging LiPo cells to 3.0V per cell. You'll have a real Lipo Cycler to do testing.
New charge algorithm for voltage and current makes it very safe, you can even set for 8 amps with 350 Lipo pack without any danger!
The Microlader update Eprom V6.4 features higher charging power for the LiPo-mode and supports close loop charging with the LiPo-Checker [0605]. The Microlader PC-interface and a special adapter [0632] is needed for this function.

Once again smart Orbit owners get to update thier chargers to the latest cell technology. It's cheaper in the long run to own the best! Don't be a tightwad on your next charger, get an Orbit and in the end you'll spend less than all the rest. Some of my customers are on their 5th upgrade now. Every upgrade is a time they didn't have to buy a new charger to keep pace with technology. Hmmm, lets see, that amortizes their charger down to cost around $60. Proven again; It's cheaper to buy the best if you plan on being alive for a few years. ;-)

Orbit 6.0 owners: Early 6.0 chargers have a processer in them that was discontinued, late 6.0 chargers are the same as modern Orbit units. If you can toggle the language between English and German in setup then your charger is a later charger and can be chip updated. We suggest you send the unit in for calibration and update at this age. Early 6.0 chargers and Pre-6.0 chargers may be updated with a new board or receive a one time only update by round trip to Germany.
