This monster was created as a replacement for the YS170, Plattenberg Evo 30-10 class motors so common in pattern competition today. However, it has MANY more uses. All Himax motors come equipped with Japanese bearings, so no replacing them right out of the gate like most of the other brands.

Actual KV here measured in our shop is 1207. Motors like this mostly commonly used 3S for sport ship range where moderate to high pitch speeds are required. A motor like this is perfect for many aircraft and commonly used on models from 16-32 oz. A good motor on our Stick 400 and other similar kits.

Side By Side 9.6V AA-700 NiCad. Yes, it is the same size as your current AA pack. A "AA" is a "AA". Slightly higher capacity than man factory packs (600mAh is typical). Also fits Futaba FG radios with gold cases. In the Futaba case the pack appears to have 9 cells but one is a hollow dummy cell. This pack fits just fine and is correct voltage.

Slow Stick Canard made easy! This all-in-one unit will mount your horizontal stab and allow angle of attack adjustments to suit your special setups. Most canards should be set to between 3 and 5 degrees positive. Range of adjust ment is from 0 to 7 degrees positive. Elevator servo moves with the canard mounting surface so your elevator adjustment stays the same relative to your canard when you alter the angle of attack setting. Mount has built in nose gear block and nose gear steering servo mount. All holes are predrilled. Includes high quality socket head hardware needed to complete.
My personal Slow Stick Canard is a twin tractor. I have a 1000mm boom length and the CG is set at 1-1.25" in ffront of the main wing leading edge. I have never built one with a stock boom length (800mm) but I would start with the CG in the range of 0-.5" in front of the leading edge. The shorter the boom the further the CG comes back, the longer the further forward you would place it. I don't know where Bob Masterson's CG is set but I would thing it is similar to my 1000mm boom setup.

A123/LithiumWerks' High Performance Nanophospate lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery technology delivers high power and energy density combined with excellent performance and extensive life cycling in a lighter weight, more compact package. Special notes about electric from Dave: This model makes an excellent electric conversion. My first large electric was one of these on 20 1750FAUP Cells. Yikes, I'd love to do another one with modern packs! Here is how I'd do it. Yes, this is same chart as the 4 Star 40, similar weight and wing area. An under recognized yet excellent electric conversion model. Good weight to wing area. A little troublesome to get large NiMH packs into due to the wing tube. However, with Lipo's it's super easy to fit the pack. Below are my suggestions for a range of practical power systems.
