Fiberglass Cloth for RC Models
Fiberglass cloth reinforces and smooths a surface when laid in resin, and this category collects fiberglass cloth for RC models across a range of weights. Lighter cloths are used to seal and strengthen wood or foam surfaces, while heavier cloth adds structure where more strength is needed.
Light and Ultra-Light Cloth
The lightest options include a 0.56 ounce reinforcing cloth and a 0.75 ounce cloth, both sold by the square yard in widths such as 38 inch. These add little weight and are common for finishing sheeted surfaces before paint.
Heavier Cloth
For higher-load areas, a 5 ounce cloth provides a heavier weave by the square yard. Choosing weight comes down to how much strength and how little weight the part calls for, and many builders keep more than one weight on the bench for different jobs.
