Sanding Sealer is basically Sig's Lite-Coat low-shrink butyrate dope with special light weight, easy-to-sand fillers added that make it the perfect surface primer for a dope finish. Two coats of Sanding Sealer, put on after your initial two coats of clear dope, then sanded thoroughly when dry, will provide an ultra-smooth base for the color dope. Sanding Sealer is completely compatible with all other Sig butyrate dope products.

Dopes and Thinner
Sig Supercoat Butyrate Dope, offered in colors such as Miami Blue, provides the pigmented coats that finish an open-structure model, and Sig Supercoat Dope Thinner adjusts it for brushing or spraying and for cleanup between coats.
Sealers and Prep
Before color goes on, Sig Sanding Sealer fills and smooths the surface, and it is stocked in 4oz, half pint, and pint sizes to match the size of a project. For foam work, Styro-Shield offers a barrier coat suited to that material. Working in thin coats and sanding lightly between them is the usual path to a smooth, taut surface.
