Daves Comments: Unlike the crappy junk that comes from China, you get a real socket head cap screw with this part. What is significant here is they are heat treated and the tip of the screw will cut into the nose gear music wire (which is VERY hard) actually locking the arm to the wire. POOR quality units come with a silver looking screw which is soft and the wire actually dents the tip of the screw when tigtened. This is why the slip constantly.

Sig offers nylon steering arms in 1/8 inch and 5/32 inch bores to match different gear wire, and Sonic Tronics lists a 1/8 inch nose gear steering arm with a 1-1/4 inch arm length. Nylon arms are light and resist corrosion.
Metal Fitments
For a firmer grip, MP Jet steering arms are offered in metric sizes such as 12mm with a 2.5mm bore. Du-Bro also lists a 5/32 inch nose gear steering arm at 1-1/4 inch length for a longer moment arm. Choosing the bore that fits your gear wire is the first thing to check, since an arm that is loose on the wire will not steer reliably.
