Wire size facts: Most standard size servos and factory battery packs come with 26 gauge wire. Normally when a standard size servo hits the high torque category or more (digital etc...) it will come with 22-gauge wire. Most factory standard switches are 26-gauge wire. All standard size (like factory size) Radical RC switches come with 22-gauge wire just like our large heavy duty switches do. We like it better! 22-gauge is the size of wire people are talking about when they say "heavy duty" and everything we sell that way is. There is a myth that you can buy 20-gauge servo wires and extensions. YES, all our 20 gauge is just under 20-gauge actually (about 90%). If you use true 20-gauge wire then the insulation will not fit inside hobby connector shells. True 20 gauge must be stripped all the way to the outside. This makes for some pretty "uncomfortable" looking connectors and shorts become a real possibility. Not worth it in my view. Our "20" is as many strands and as much copper as you can stuff into a connector shell and still have insulation and strain relief. Surface area of the wire is the really important factor and it's the reason we use so many strands in our wire. It is the good stuff! High strand count wire is also much less prone to break internally under the millions of vibration cycles it will see in your fuel powered model. Sure, you can get cheaper lower strand count wire however it is risky and losing only one model to the poor quality gear isn't too smart. Just in case you did not know, as the gauge number gets smaller, the wire size gets bigger. Stranded wire guage is not measured by bundle OD. It's measured by totalling the crossectional area of all the individual strands. Hope you know a little more now than when you came.
