This monster was created as a replacement for the YS170, Plattenberg Evo 30-10 class motors so common in pattern competition today. However, it has MANY more uses. All Himax motors come equipped with Japanese bearings, so no replacing them right out of the gate like most of the other brands.

Sodium-ion batteries are highly safe, have no risk of explosion and fire, and are environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non-polluting. No memory effect - the battery can be charged in any state of discharge, giving you peace of mind. The working principle of sodium ion batteries is similar to that of lithium-ion batteries, which utilize the insertion and removal process of sodium ions between the positive and negative electrodes to achieve charging and discharging.
Specifications:
Nominal Voltage: 3.1V

Advantage of Sodium ion Battery
1. Long cycle life: The cycle is longer, compared with Lithium ion battery, can reach to 4000-4500 times.
2. Safety: Sodium-ion cells can be discharged to 0V for transport, avoiding thermal run-away hazards.
3. High Power: The cells have continuous discharge current 10C Peak discharge current.
4. Low temperature: Can be used in low temperature environments, with a discharge capacity of up to 85% at a temperature of -30 degrees.
5. Wild Voltage range: The working voltage range is 1.5V-4.1V.
6. Environmental abundance: Sodium is over 1000 times more abundant than lithium and more evenly distributed worldwide. So its price is more stable.
7. LOWER COST: Sodium precursors (such as Na2CO3) are far cheaper than the equivalent lithium compounds.
8. Charge on Li-Ion mode set voltage to maximum 3.9-4.1V

Side By Side, double stick, 7.2V FDK (formerly Sanyo) 6-AA 2500 NIMH cells, fits Multiplex radios. "Twicell" (formerly Eneloop) low self discharge type which comes partially charged and is the same product as prior Twicell (Eneloop) cells. Same size as 700 and 1100 NiCad pack above. Less weight than 1400 NiCads above. Good cell where fast charging is not a needed but extra capacity is desirable. High capacity TX Battery, if you are sick of your TX running down. Yes, it is the same size as your current AA pack. A "AA" is a "AA". This is what your computer TX should have included!
7.2V Weight 234g / 8.25 oz.
Individual Cell Internal Impedance 20.0mΩ
All AA size cells over 1700mAh should not be fast charged ever! If you repeat this experiment, your on your own. I recommend only factory wall wart charging with units rated of 70mAh or less for these type cells.
Break in (first forming charge) on 50mAh factory wall charger 700mAh-19.6 hours,1100-30.8 hours,1650-46.2 hours, 2500-70 hours. For 70mAh wall charger deduct 28% of time, for 100mAh wall charger deduct 50% of time. Forming charge (initial charge) on peak detection chargers is not recommended and voids warranty.
Any peak or fast charger use on this pack voids warranty. Don't bother calling trying to get a warranty for failing to follow instructions. I've heard all the stories. They all end like this, "My battery does not cycle well now." and "It worked ok for a while but now it runs down fast shortly after charging". If you put any AA cell over 1700mAh capacity on your peak charger, it's bad. I've already made theses tests for you so you could avoid the pain. If you ruin one of these mega capacity TX packs, just order a new one and do better the second time.

Want a custom pack? See our custom pack listings, or email us at Sales@RadicalRC.com, and we can special make any kind of pack you require!
Note: Photo shows sample Rx pack with double lead option.
For checking pack voltage between flights, our best advice currently is: Leave model on after flight, plug loaded volt meter directly into pack balance plug (charge port ok but not preferred) hold load engaged, switch model off. Allow pack to drain into meter for 5 seconds, take your reading. See my blog post Checking A123 RX Packs For Recharge Point for help in this area.
We packed as much brute power and intelligence into this tiny layout as we possibly could and came up with a 15 amp* controller with ability to sustain an 8 amp BEC! Talon 15 measures just 1.1" long and is under 0.6" wide! At nearly the size of a quarter, this ESC supports an outlandish 8 amp** peak BEC with output voltage of 5.5 VDC. Applications range from foamies to micro and sub-micro helis running up to 4S and pulling 15 amps. As with any Castle ESC, the Talon 15 offers Castle's industry-leading functions, not to mention easy programming using the Castle Link USB adapter (coupon for free Castle Link included), or the Castle Field Link Portable Programmer (sold separately).
Notes from Dave: This is a world beater ESC. Now we can run high voltages in our smaller models with a small tight ESC from a quality manufacturer. I'm very excited to put one of these in my 5S, 16 ounce Stick 400. Sweet!
Input Voltage: 2-4 Lipo Max Continuous Amperage: 15* BEC Voltage: 5.5v BEC Amperage: 3 Continuous, 8 Surge** Switching Rate 7,000 Hz Resistance 0.0065 Ohms Brake yes, programmable Reversible yes - change any two wires Size .058 x 1.1 x 0.32 in. Weight (w/wires) 0.25 oz. (7.2g) Universal connector
*RC HOBBY APPLICATION RATING: 15 amps for the duration of a single 4,000 mAh battery pack with the ESC in contact with a 5 mph airflow of 25C (77F) or cooler air. Controller temperature must never exceed 100C (212F). Exceeding current or temperature ratings may damage components and may shorten the life of the ESC. Always verify system current draw at full-throttle. Decrease load or increase airflow to decrease the ESC's operating temperature.
**Peak indicates amperage sustainable for most servos' current draw transients. Always confirm servo current draw before the first flight of the model.
Fast, but not too fast. Maneuverable, but not tricky. A snap to build and surprisingly rugged compared to most. The original Sunday Fighters were the brainchild of Ken Willard back in the early 1970's. His were small, .049 powered 3-channel models and proved quite popular. Now, we've taken this idea, enlarged, and re-engineered them to make them as much fun to build as they are to fly.
You should see them take evasive maneuvers in Dog Fighting. Evade with snap rolls into spins, Immelmann turns and a loop. Our radio-controlled Sunday Fighter airplane kits just might be the most fun you've had in a long time.
Because of the interlocking design and high quality laser cutting of the parts, the Sunday Fighter is a quick build. Not only does it build quick, but it also builds straight and true as all of the parts are designed to align properly with a minimum of fuss and alignment tools.
The wings are removable for storage/transport and for giving access to the extra large cabin area. From there you have easy access to install most any brand of radio and control linkages. However, the fully assembled model can fit in the trunk of most mid-sized cars.
Up-front, we've designed in a hatch that covers the battery/tank compartment. This area will easily handle 3s packs and 6 ounce tanks.
Whether you choose to power your Sunday with electric or glow power, we've got you covered. Glow engines can be mounted side, inverted or even upright with a little modification. Electric motors can be mounted using the included Motor Box which will help space your motor to the proper distance.
Go true "old-school" with 3 channel control, or opt for functional ailerons (4 channel).
There are two Sunday Fighters - the German version you see here, and the British version you can see at this link.
Specifications:
Wingspan: 46.5 inches
Wing Area: 725 sq inches
Length (airframe only): 34 inches
Weight: 3.5 - 4 pounds
Radio: 3-4 channel system
Power:
o Glow (.20-.30 engine, 6 ounce tank, fuel tubing)
o Electric (equivalent brushless motor, 3s LiPo)
Premium USA Hardware
Included in each Old School Model Works kit is a premium hardware package. We only source our hardware from brand-name, USA manufacturers to guarantee the best quality.
Dual Ailerons Mounted under the lower wing, these two pre-cut aileron hatches make it easy to install the aileron servos.
WEB-LOCK Construction There's nothing else like it. Build our wings, straight and true - with a minimum amount of fuss.
Bolt on main gear Bending your own landing gear is hard. So that's why we include pre-bent main landing gear wire ready for you to assemble.
Front hatch Held in with magnets, this extra hatch gives you easy access to batteries or fuel.
Included Motor Box For electric power, we include the pieces to build this electric motor mounting box.
Design your color scheme Download this sheet to design your Heinschmitt's color scheme.
Additional items needed to complete our Sunday Fighter kit:
o Propeller
o Engine/Motor mount & mounting hardware
o 2-5 servos depending on setup: 2 mini for elevator/rudder, 2 Sub-Micro for ailerons/throttle
o "Y" servo harness (for ailerons)
o Pushrods (two 5" for ailerons, two 20" for elevator & rudder, one 9" for throttle if glow powered)
o Clevises for the pushrods (8 if electric, 10 if glow).
o 2 - 3.5" diameter wheels. We recommend Du-Bro's #350V Vintage wheels for the proper look.
o 1 - tailwheel assembly
