RC After Run Oil for Glow Engines

A glow engine draws in fuel that contains methanol, and methanol attracts moisture. Left inside an engine after a flying session, that moisture can begin to corrode bearings and internal steel parts long before the engine is run again. After run oil is the simple preventive step that addresses this.

How It Is Used

A few drops of after run oil go in through the carburetor or glow plug hole once the fuel is drained and the engine has stopped. Turning the engine over by hand spreads the oil across the bearings, cylinder, and crankshaft, displacing leftover fuel residue and coating the metal with a protective film.

The habit matters most for engines that sit between sessions or go into storage over an off-season, when weeks of idle time give corrosion the chance to set in. A small bottle treats an engine many times over.
