Finishing Resin epoxies are thinner than construction epoxies. Most common uses are laminating layers of anything together, or applying fiberglass / carbon cloth to a surface. The thinner and slower curing characteristics allow easier squeegeeing and easier finish sanding.

Because these resins cure to a hard film, they add a measure of stiffness and abrasion resistance to a light structure, and working in thin coats sanded between passes builds a smooth base for paint.
