Slow-Cure(TM) 30 Min. EpoxySlow-Cure(TM) 30 Min. Epoxy

Slow-Cure(TM) 30 Min. Epoxy

SLOW-CURE(TM) 30 min. epoxy works best for forming reinforcing fillets on joints. It has the highest strength of our epoxies. It is waterproof and more heat resistant. SLOW-CURE(TM) can be used for bonding if you're willing to wait overnight. Fillers such as microballoons can be mixed with SLOW-CURE(TM) and FINISH-CURE(TM) to form a putty-like consistency. Such fillers will usually decrease the working time by about 25%. Bonded objects can be handled after 8 hours and the cured epoxy reaches full strength within 24 hours.

Works Best On:
  • Glass & Metal
  • Fiberglass
  • White Foam
  • Water-Resistant
  • Reinforcing

Works Good On:

  • Balsa Wood
  • Soft Wood
  • Hard Wood
  • Hard Plastics
  • Laminating

DIRECTIONS:

SLOW-CURE(TM) 30 min. Epoxy is an equal two-part hobby adhesive that forms high strength bonds through a chemical reaction between the resin and hardener. The cured epoxy is resistant to most chemicals.

SLOW-CURE(TM) has the highest strength of our epoxies and should be applied in temperatures above 70°F. SLOW-CURE(TM) maintains its strength in both the lowest and highest temperature ranges of our line of epoxies.

SLOW-CURE(TM) bonds best to clean, textured surfaces. Smooth, non-porous surfaces should be roughened with coarse sandpaper to improve adhesion. Acetone and Isopropyl rubbing alcohol work as the best solvents for cleaning uncured epoxy from surfaces. SLOW-CURE(TM) works best for forming reinforcing fillets on joints and can be mixed with micro balloons or other fillers to form putty-like consistency. SLOW-CURE(TM) is waterproof and forms superior bonds if you're willing to wait overnight. It has better penetration of porous surfaces for better bonding. Full cure in 6-8 hours.

Quik-Cure(TM) 5 Min. Epoxy

QUIK-CURE(TM) 5 min. epoxy cures to a slightly flexible consistency. This lack of brittleness allows it to form a lasting bond in areas subjected to high vibration or stress.

QUIK-CURE(TM) shouldn't be used in areas that are subject to long-term immersion in water; however, it works fine for the internal structure of wood framed boats.

QUIK-CURE(TM) is our only epoxy on which you can apply polyester resins. It can be mixed with microballoons to form a quick setting putty. Items bonded with QUIK-CURE(TM) can be handled after 15 minutes. Full strength is reached in 1 hour.

Works Best On:

  • Hard Wood
  • Glass & Metal

Works Good On:

  • Soft Wood
  • Fiberglass
  • Ceramics
  • Hard Plastics
  • White Foam
  • Reinforcing

DIRECTIONS:

QUIK-CURE(TM) 5 min. Epoxy is an equal two-part hobby adhesive that forms high strength bonds through a chemical reaction between the resin and hardener. The cured epoxy is resistant to most chemicals.

QUIK-CURE(TM) is the least temperature sensitive of our epoxies. It will cure in temperatures down to 40°F. Temperatures above 90°F shorten the working time before the epoxy begins to set up from 5 to less than 4 minutes.

QUIK-CURE(TM) bonds best to clean, textured surfaces. Smooth, non-porous surfaces should be roughened with coarse sandpaper to improve adhesion. Acetone and Isopropyl rubbing alcohol work as the best solvents for cleaning uncured epoxy from surfaces. QUIK-CURE'S(TM) lack of brittleness allows it to form lasting bonds on materials as different as balsa wood and glass; however, it is not recommended for areas subject to long-term immersion in water. Cured QUIK-CURE(TM) can be coated with polyester resin without affecting the curing of the resin. Full cure in less than 15 minutes.

Mid-Cure(TM) 15 Min. Epoxy

MID-CURE(TM) 15 min. epoxy is used in larger areas where more working time is needed. It is more water resistant and can be used as a substitute for QUIK-CURE(TM) in most applications.

MID-CURE(TM) is our most flexible epoxy and is ideal for gluing to fiberglass surfaces. Allow 45 minutes before handling parts and 2 hours for full strength.

Works Best On:

  • Hard Wood
  • Fiberglass

MID-CURE(TM) should be applied in temperatures above 65?F. It can be used in most applications when you need more working time than QUIK-CURE(TM) provides. MID-CURE(TM) can be worked for about 10 minutes, with adhesion beginning after about 15 minutes.

Acetone and Isopropyl rubbing alcohol work as the best solvents for cleaning uncured epoxy from surfaces. MID-CURE(TM) is our most flexible epoxy. This gives it superior bonding qualities in applications such as hardwood to fiberglass. MID-CURE'S(TM) lack of brittleness allows it to form lasting bonds in areas subject to high vibration or stress. MID-CURE(TM) is a water-resistant substitute for QUIK-CURE(TM). RC Epoxy, Glass Resins and Hardeners

Epoxy handles the structural joints and finishing work that CA cannot, and this category gathers cure-rate epoxies alongside glass resin systems for covering and reinforcing. Matching the cure time to the job is the key to working without rushing or waiting too long.

Cure Times

The Quik-Cure 5 minute epoxy suits quick repairs and fast tacking, the Mid-Cure 15 minute gives more assembly time for larger joints, and the Slow-Cure 30 minute epoxy allows the longest working window for critical bonds and laminating.

Glass Resin Systems

For fiberglass work, the Sig Complete Glass System and Sig Glass Resin pair with glass resin hardener to seal and strengthen surfaces such as cowls and fuselages. These resins soak into cloth and cure to a hard shell. Slower cures also give trapped bubbles time to escape, which is why builders reach for the 30 minute epoxy on structural laminating jobs.

Choose the cure time or resin system above that fits your building and finishing tasks.
