When we started out to design a smaller, quick-to-build, and inexpensive kit, we found that we had the perfect starting point--our Javelin. Its great flying characteristics have made it one of our best-selling kits.
So, we found that by shrinking the original Javelin, simplifying the construction, and lightening parts where possible, what we ended up with is a fantastic flying model -- the Dart!
It's another in our Schoolyard series - a kit you can easily frame up in just a weekend, and once completed, enjoy at a local schoolyard or park.
All of this comes in a great looking design that is remarkably easy to build, thanks to our innovative design techniques and precision laser cut parts.
Although it only weighs just over a pound, ready-to-fly, the Dart's construction gives it surprising rigidity to handle most anything you can throw at it. Loops, rolls, inverted flight, snaps, spins, hammerheads, Cuban-8's, split-S, and more.
And after you're done tearing up the skies, throttle down to easily cruise around the field. Then when the time's right, setup for a nice, controlled landing.
Program in a transmitter flaperon mix, put the aileron servos into separate channels, and then enjoy even slower flights, shorter takeoffs, and slower landings!
Because of the interlocking design and high quality laser cutting of the parts, the Dart is a quick build. Not only does it build quick, but it also builds straight and true as all of the parts were designed to align properly with a minimum of fuss and alignment tools.
The wing is removable, giving access to inside the cabin area. From there, you have easy access to install most any brand of radio and control linkages.
Up-front, we've designed in a large hatch that covers the spacious battery compartment. This area will easily handle up to 1000mAh 2-3s packs.

A123/LithiumWerks' High Performance Nanophospate lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery technology delivers high power and energy density combined with excellent performance and extensive life cycling in a lighter weight, more compact package. A123LithiumWerks' cells have a low capacity loss and impedance growth over time as well as high usable energy over a wide state of charge (SOC) range, allowing out them to meet requirements of many applications.
These batteries are capable of 50 amp constant discharge, with a 10 second pulse rating of 120 amps. Cycle up to 1000 times before significant capacity loss occurs. The rugged assembly of the products will ensure that your pack will last for years, not months. Can be repeatably charged to 100% in 15 minutes. All AA size cells over 1700mAh should not be fast charged ever! If you repeat this experiment, your on your own. I recommend only factory wall wart charging with units rated of 70mAh or less for these type cells.
Break in (first forming charge) on 50mAh factory wall charger 700mAh-19.6 hours,1100-30.8 hours,1650-46.2 hours, 2500-70 hours. For 70mAh wall charger deduct 28% of time, for 100mAh wall charger deduct 50% of time. Forming charge (initial charge) on peak detection chargers is not recommended and voids warranty.
Any peak or fast charger use on this pack voids warranty. Don't bother calling trying to get a warranty for failing to follow instructions. I've heard all the stories. They all end like this, "My battery does not cycle well now." and "It worked ok for a while but now it runs down fast shortly after charging". If you put any AA cell over 1700mAh capacity on your peak charger, it's bad. I've already made theses tests for you so you could avoid the pain. If you ruin one of these mega capacity TX packs, just order a new one and do better the second time.

Notes from Dave: This is absolutely my favorite glow sport ship of all time. It's a classic kit. There was just nothing more exciting on trainer night than to have a graduated student come up with one of these for his 2nd or 3rd aircraft and ask me to test fly it. I dare say, I'd put a whole tank through the model and say, yes, it's still my all time favorite! The model is very pattern like for it's size, super smooth and yet retains all the personality of weekend sport ship. Friendly yet aerobatic and even aggressive if you set the throws for more spirited performance. They land like a dream, are utterly trustworth in any situation. You'll love it as I do.

GF Nylon Spinners have light weight aluminum back plate. No special prop nut or adapter is required. Spinner is held to back plate with two attachment screws. Machined groove supports edge of spinner. Back plate is knurled on both sides to grip both your prop and prop adapter making it easier to tighten than other spinners of this style. Size 2.5" (63mm) OD. Factory shaft hole in back plate is .252" (6.4mm). Overall Length is 2.465" (62.6mm).
