Sodium-ion batteries are highly safe, have no risk of explosion and fire, and are environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non-polluting. No memory effect - the battery can be charged in any state of discharge, giving you peace of mind. The working principle of sodium ion batteries is similar to that of lithium-ion batteries, which utilize the insertion and removal process of sodium ions between the positive and negative electrodes to achieve charging and discharging. Example photos show 4-Cell Flat Packs, 4 single cells, and wire configuration examples (apply to 4-cell the same).

Jet-like looks and wide flight envelope make this design stand apart.
Had enough of the same old designs? Need a ship that is new and different? Look no further than our Polaris - unique, easy to build, and exciting to fly!
We've taken Bill Evans' original and brought it up-to-date.
Included are new, simplified building features as well as laser-cut precision and self-aligning parts to make this all-time favorite even better. For example, our exclusive Web-Lock construction makes building the wing panels a snap. Rather than the sheer webs being an afterthought, they are utilized during the build to properly space, position, and lock in each rib.
This type of design is commonly referred to as a Simitar. Though Simitars operate on the concept of a flying wing, they don't really look like a flying wing, nor do they appear to be conventional in nature. So, what makes them different?
First, no stall. Reduce power, gradually feed in up elevator, and as it slows down, the nose will automatically drop a bit, reducing the angle of attack; therefore, no stall. What makes this possible is the innovative ESA (Evans Simitar Airfoil) which is a semi-symmetrical reflexed design.
Next, the wide speed range. No matter how much power you put into a ship from the Simitar Series, it goes faster (no Dutch Roll). It also slows down to a crawl (the effect of no stall) and sets down like a hang glider.
Finally, a Simitar is directional in flight, in that it will remain in most any attitude it is set in. Once properly trimmed, point it in a direction, and rest assured, it will do as commanded.
Join the Simitar Squadron and become a Polaris pilot with a design that's very smooth-flying and graceful. Easy to build with pieces laser-cut from high-quality balsa and ply woods. When finished, the Polaris' typical Simitar characteristics give it no stall, a wide speed range, and it goes exactly where it's pointed. Our Polaris was independently reviewed by MBMrc. Check out their pre-flight video report.
And here's is MBMrc's flight video.

FDK (formerly Sanyo) HR-AA-1650 Square Pack. HIGH capacity if you are sick of your TX running down. Yes, it's the same size as your current Square "AA" pack. About 3x the capacity of most factory packs! The 1650 has been around for a number years with great results and good longevity. If you've been afraid to try NiMH this is a great place to get your feet wet. Fits all the Futaba and JR radios requiring Square pack. If you have a clip pack, get the adapter kit to go with this pack. Clip packs are corrosion prone and any modeler at this level needs to make this update before you get bit. Why did they sell you that fine high end radio only to give you a paltry little pack with it? Fix that factory ignorance with this pack. Don't let the shadow in this picture fool you, this pack is about 3-15/16 long. A "AA" is a "AA" is a "AA". It's the same size as your current SQ AA pack. Weight 223g/7.85oz. Individual Cell Internal Impedance 25.0mΩ
Maintenance charge and maximum form charge rate for this pack is not to exceed 100mAh. See chart at top of category page for charging recommendations.
Form charge on factory wall charger only, not to exceed 100mAh. Attempting to form charge (initial charge) on peak detection charger or by any other method not specifically stated here is not recommended and voids warranty.

For checking pack voltage between flights, our best advice currently is: Leave model on after flight, plug loaded volt meter directly into pack balance plug (charge port ok but not preferred) hold load engaged, switch model off. Allow pack to drain into meter for 5 seconds, take your reading. See my blog post Checking A123 RX Packs For Recharge Point for help in this area.

Historically, the full-scale Smith Miniplane is one of the designs that helped start the modern homebuilding era. Originally designed and built in 1957 by Frank Smith of Fullerton, California, the Miniplane was an early example of engineering with the amateur homebuilder and weekend pilot in mind. It could be constructed with tools easily within reach of the average craftsman, and in the air it was stable and easy to fly. The top wing spanned 17 ft., and the empty weight was a mere 600 pounds. Powered by a 100hp Lycoming, the tiny Miniplane cruised at 120 mph, climbed at a fantastic 2,500 ft. per minute, and was highly aerobatic. It was just what many sportsman pilots were looking for!
R/C Sport Scale BiPlane
In 1974, Glen Sigafoose, then President of Sig Mfg. Co., acquired a complete Smith Miniplane to use for aerobatic practice. Glen's beautiful red, white, and black aircraft was the inspiration for this mini version of the Miniplane.
9.6V FDK (formerly Sanyo) 8-AA 2500 NIMH cells STYLUS / FUTABA G TX pack. "Twicell" (formerly Eneloop) low self discharge type which comes partially charged and is the same product as prior Eneloop cells. Same size as 700 and 1100 NiCad pack above. Less weight than 1400 NiCads above. Good cell where fast charging is not a needed but extra capacity is desirable. High capacity TX Battery, if you are sick of your TX running down. Yes, it is the same size as your current AA pack. A "AA" is a "AA". This is what your computer TX should have included!
9.6V Weight 312g / 11oz.
Individual Cell Internal Impedance 20.0mΩ
All AA size cells over 1700mAh should not be fast charged ever! If you repeat this experiment, your on your own. I recommend only factory wall wart charging with units rated of 70mAh or less for these type cells.
Break in (first forming charge) on 50mAh factory wall charger 700mAh-19.6 hours,1100-30.8 hours,1650-46.2 hours, 2500-70 hours. For 70mAh wall charger deduct 28% of time, for 100mAh wall charger deduct 50% of time. Forming charge (initial charge) on peak detection chargers is not recommended and voids warranty.
Any peak or fast charger use on this pack voids warranty. Don't bother calling trying to get a warranty for failing to follow instructions. I've heard all the stories. They all end like this, "My battery does not cycle well now." and "It worked ok for a while but now it runs down fast shortly after charging". If you put any AA cell over 1700mAh capacity on your peak charger, it's bad. I've already made theses tests for you so you could avoid the pain. If you ruin one of these mega capacity TX packs, just order a new one and do better the second time.
This is one of my favorite motors with many applications. I've used this motor for setups from converting 10 to 25 size models, sailplanes and larger park flier models.
