For checking pack voltage between flights, our best advice currently is: Leave model on after flight, plug loaded volt meter directly into pack balance plug (charge port OK but not preferred) hold load engaged, switch model off. Allow pack to drain into meter for 5 seconds, take your reading. See my blog post Checking A123 RX Packs For Recharge Point for help in this area.

Slow Stick Canard made easy! This all-in-one unit will mount your horizontal stab and allow angle of attack adjustments to suit your special setups. Most canards should be set to between 3 and 5 degrees positive. Range of adjust ment is from 0 to 7 degrees positive. Elevator servo moves with the canard mounting surface so your elevator adjustment stays the same relative to your canard when you alter the angle of attack setting. Mount has built in nose gear block and nose gear steering servo mount. All holes are predrilled. Includes high quality socket head hardware needed to complete.
My personal Slow Stick Canard is a twin tractor. I have a 1000mm boom length and the CG is set at 1-1.25" in ffront of the main wing leading edge. I have never built one with a stock boom length (800mm) but I would start with the CG in the range of 0-.5" in front of the leading edge. The shorter the boom the further the CG comes back, the longer the further forward you would place it. I don't know where Bob Masterson's CG is set but I would thing it is similar to my 1000mm boom setup.
Maiden Flight Video of Bob Masterson's converted Canard Slow Stick. This model is full house with 10" extended boom length.

Sodium-ion batteries are highly safe, have no risk of explosion and fire, and are environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non-polluting. No memory effect - the battery can be charged in any state of discharge, giving you peace of mind. The working principle of sodium ion batteries is similar to that of lithium-ion batteries, which utilize the insertion and removal process of sodium ions between the positive and negative electrodes to achieve charging and discharging. Example photos show 2-Cell Flat Packs, single cells and wire configuration options.
Single Cell Specifications:
Nominal Voltage: 3.1V
Work Voltage Range:1.5V-4.1V
Continuous charge /Discharge current:10C
Operating Temperature:-30°-60°

Advantage of Sodium ion Battery
1. Long cycle life: The cycle is longer, compared with Lithium ion battery, can reach to 4000-4500 times.
2. Safety: Sodium-ion cells can be discharged to 0V for transport, avoiding thermal run-away hazards.
3. High Power: The cells have continuous discharge current 10C Peak discharge current.
4. Low temperature: Can be used in low temperature environments, with a discharge capacity of up to 85% at a temperature of -30 degrees.
5. Wild Voltage range: The working voltage range is 1.5V-4.1V.
6. Environmental abundance: Sodium is over 1000 times more abundant than lithium and more evenly distributed worldwide. So its price is more stable.
7. LOWER COST: Sodium precursors (such as Na2CO3) are far cheaper than the equivalent lithium compounds.
8. Charge on Li-Ion mode set voltage to maximum 3.9-4.1V

There's just not enough Oh's in SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH.
Beautiful, isn't she?
And like all great ladies, her graceful ways are evident the moment she takes to the skies.
The Minuette is designed to mimic the look and feel of those wonderful Edwardian flying machines that were flown by those magnificent men.
Building the wing is a snap, as all of the ribs are laser-cut as part of our WEB-LOCK construction for proper alignment with minimum fuss.
If you want to go truly "old school", it can be built for simple 3-channel control (rudder, elevator, and throttle). For even more control, the included ailerons can be made fully functional (4-channel control).
Although power can come from glow or electric powerplants, a simple 3s electric setup is really what the Minuette is designed around. We've created the fuselage with a huge top hatch so you have quick access to batteries and a radio, and it also hides the wing bolts.
In the air, the Minuette is a simple, easy-to-fly cruising aircraft. Takeoffs are in just a few feet, even from grass runways. Once airborne, relax and gently glide her through the air through a series of low-passes, gentle turns, and even horizontal figure eights. With a 3200mAh battery, you can easily achieve 10+ minute flights with plenty of battery left for some touch-and-go's before landing.
The Minuette can even handle a bit of light wind without too much problem, and she is at her best taking off and landing into those gentle winds, if possible.
Please note that the Minuette is not designed (or stressed) for aerobatics. Also, the removable flying wires in the Accessory kit are decorative and not needed to fly - just to look great.
Specifications:
Wingspan: 67.5 inches
Wing Area: 630 sq. inches
Length (airframe only): 38 inches
Weight: 3.5-4 pounds RTF
Radio: 3 or 4 channel (Sub-Micro servos, similar to HS-5065MG)
Power:
Glow (.15-.25 glow)
Electric (250+ watt, 40+ amp ESC, 3S 3200+mAh LiPo)
Premium USA Hardware
Included in each Old School Model Works kit is a premium hardware package. We only source our hardware from brand-name, USA manufacturers to guarantee the best quality.
WEB-LOCK Construction
There's nothing else like it. Build our wings, straight and true - with a minimum amount of fuss.
Front hatch
This extra-large top hatch gives you plenty of room to access the battery. It also hides the wing-bolts and gives access to the radio compartment. It's rear lock makes it quick to remove and quick to lock the hatch place.
3 or 4 channels
To aileron, or not to aileron? Whatever your answer is, parts are included to build the wing either way.
Design your color scheme https://oldschoolmodels.com/images/minuette/osmw-minuette-color-scheme-blank.jpg
Additional items needed to complete the Minuette kit:
Propeller
Engine/Motor mount & mounting hardware
Radio system with 3 or 4 servos (we used Sub-Micro servos in our prototypes)
"Y" servo harness (for ailerons)
Pushrods (we recommend pull-pull for elevator and rudder, 6" pushrods for the ailerons)
Clevises for the pushrods
Wheels: two 3.5" vintage look tires
Covering (typically one 2-meter roll will work)
Optional Accessory Kit for a more "scale-like" look
Minuette Accessory Kit:
Although this optional accessory kit is not necessary for the Minuette to fly, it does add a bit of "scale-realism". The flying wires and pylons are removable for easy transport of the wing and fuselage. It includes:
Ready-to assemble 3D printed dummy motor (based on the Anzani "W" 3-cylinder). It is designed and printed by Innov8tive Designs, and meant to slip over your electric motor, mounting to the firewall
Pre-bent upper and lower flying-wire pylons
Anchors, removable flying wires, hooks, and shrink-tubing

The Sig Kadet LT-40 has become the R/C trainer of choice at many club fields. Not long after it's introduction, we started getting requests for a smaller version of the same airplane. So here it is - a compact version of the LT-40 - the new Sig Kadet LT-25. When price shopping this kit, be sure you understand our super low flat rate shipping means total cost to your door is probably the lowest on the planet.
"The R/C Trainer That's All Laser Cut", As you would expect, the new LT-25 inherits all the same gentle flying characteristics of the other legendary Sig Kadets. It has the same light wing loading, which allows it to fly slow enough to give the student pilot time to think and react. It has the same "hands off" stability on all axis. If the student pilot gets disorientated, simply let go of the sticks and the LT-25 will recover and return to level flight within seconds.
Specifications:

3x2 Double Stick, 7.2V FDK (formerly Sanyo) 6-AA 2500 NIMH cells. "Twicell" (formerly Eneloop) low self discharge type which comes partially charged and is the same product as prior. Made to fit Hitec's new Aurora 9 and the Airtronics SD-10G. Excellent way to go when replacing a weak factory pack. 7.2 volts and 6 cells just more capacity. Comes without plug, choose below or reuse your old plug.
Same size as 700 and 1100 NiCad pack above. Less weight than 1400 NiCads above. Good cell where fast charging is not a needed but extra capacity is desirable. High capacity TX Battery, if you are sick of your TX running down. Yes, it is the same size as your current AA pack. A "AA" is a "AA". This is what your computer TX should have included!
7.2V Weight 234g / 8.25 oz.
Individual Cell Internal Impedance 20.0mΩ
All AA size cells over 1700mAh should not be fast charged ever! If you repeat this experiment, your on your own. I recommend only factory wall wart charging with units rated of 70mAh or less for these type cells. Break in (first forming charge) on 50mAh factory wall charger 700mAh-19.6 hours,1100-30.8 hours,1650-46.2 hours, 2500-70 hours. For 70mAh wall charger deduct 28% of time, for 100mAh wall charger deduct 50% of time. Forming charge (initial charge) on peak detection chargers is not recommended and voids warranty. Any peak or fast charger use on this pack voids warranty. Don't bother calling trying to get a warranty for failing to follow instructions. I've heard all the stories. They all end like this, "My battery does not cycle well now." and "It worked ok for a while but now it runs down fast shortly after charging". If you put any AA cell over 1700mAh capacity on your peak charger, it's bad. I've already made theses tests for you so you could avoid the pain. If you ruin one of these mega capacity TX packs, just order a new one and do better the second time.
