Nylon Washers and Fasteners

Nylon hardware fills a specific need in model building where a metal fastener is not the right answer. Being light and non-conductive, nylon parts are handy around electronics and radio gear, and they will not scratch or mar softer surfaces the way steel can.

Flat Nylon Washers

The flat nylon washer in a 1/4 inch size, sold in packs of six, works as a spacer or a bearing surface under a screw head or nut. Because nylon has a little give, it can also help seat a fitting without over-stressing thin material.

Builders often keep a few nylon washers on hand for insulating a metal fastener from a circuit board, cushioning a mount, or setting a small gap between parts.
