Folding props do cost more than fixed types. However when flying sailplanes and gliders they greatly reduce drag. A spinning prop is much more drag than a stopped prop and a folded prop is even less drag than a stopped fixed prop. Additionally folding props are rarely broken. Just be sure the motor is off on landing. ;-)
Folding props are also often utilized on Hot-Liners (hot high speed sailplanes), Some pylon type racers and even seen on faux jets which are prop driven. Anything you want to go very fast in a drive can also benefit from a folding prop.
Most props can be cleverly assembled in pusher configuration where the prop folds back over the spinner. We do not stock reverse rotation blades so care must be taken when setting up lateral thrust lines with conventional rotation props in pusher configuration.
8mm yokes on a 15.5x9.5 blade set. Blade length 6.772" (172mm). Blades only.

Folding Propellers for RC Planes
On electric gliders and sailplanes, a folding propeller sweeps back against the fuselage when the motor stops, cutting drag during the glide. This category collects folding propellers for RC planes in the yoke style, where each blade pivots on a central hub.
AeroNaut Yoke-Style Props
Most of the selection is AeroNaut folding blades built for an 8mm yoke, in sizes such as 10x7, 11x6, 11x7, 12x6, and 12x13. Choosing a diameter and pitch comes down to the motor and the model's speed range, and a folding blade also protects the tips during a belly landing.
Prop and Spinner Sets
A plastic spinner with a folding prop is also offered as a combined 30x2.3mm unit with a 6x3 blade, giving a ready pairing of hub and blades for smaller setups. This kind of one-piece assembly saves the work of fitting separate blades to a yoke.
Match a blade size and yoke to your power system from the props listed here, keeping the hub bore in mind as well.
