This material shrinks easily with your covering shrink gun, lighter or other heat source. After shrinking, this higher quality tube stays flexible keeping your strain relief plans intact. Shrinks about 50%. 1/16 and 3/32 sizes are most popular for individual servo and park flier pack wires. 1/8" for strain relief on 2 pole 22 gauge battery pack wire, larger sizes for larger wire. Shown at right is 3/8" for locking together servo connectors you won't be able to easily inspect later. Measurement is inside diameter. Sold in multiples of 2' lengths.

Important Fitting Instructions If your unsure of what size you need, take a paper strap, wrap around your project and tape together. Slip the paper band off, flatten and measure it's width. Pick next size larger. Your shrink must fit over your cells "AND" your tabs and wire. Smallest size that will slip over your pack/project shrinks and looks best. Get a variety of sizes. This material is too inexpensive not to keep on hand. While wishing may be cheaper, laying your hands on a section when you need is more rewarding.

Heat Shrink Tubing for Wires
Heat shrink tubing insulates solder joints, bundles conductors, and adds strain relief where wires leave a connector or battery pack. Sliding a length over a joint and warming it produces a tight, protective sleeve that guards against shorts and abrasion.
Sizes for Different Gauges
This category carries flexible shrink tubing in several diameters, including 3/64 inch (1.0mm), 1/16 inch (1.6mm), and 5/64 inch (2.0mm). Smaller sizes suit fine servo leads and light gauge wire, while larger diameters cover heavier battery and motor leads. Choose a size that slips over the wire before shrinking, then contracts snugly around it for a clean finish.
Colors and Materials
Many sizes are offered in black and red, which helps you keep track of polarity and signal wiring at a glance. A PVC thick wall semi-flexible clear tubing is also available where a heavier, see-through sleeve is preferred, letting you inspect the joint underneath without cutting the sleeve away.
