Lithium Poly Packs/Cells
|
| Safety Warning All Lithium Polymer (Lipo) batteries REQUIRE a Lithium Polymer Charger must be set by the user (you) to correct number of cells and charge rate of approximately capacity x 1. All charging should be in a firesafe container or outdoors away from flammables. Fires are rare but they do occur with user charging errors. Make sure your only loss is your battery and not your life or property.
Balancing every 5 to 10 charges is recommended. Be sure to always balance a new pack or after any battery abuse/overheating or repair. Puffed cells are caused by charging to over 4.2v per cell, charging unbalanced packs, discharging over maximum C rate, or otherwise abusing the battery.

LiPo Batteries and CellsLithium polymer batteries have become the standard power source for electric flight, offering a strong balance of weight, capacity, and discharge current. This section is the starting point for the shop's LiPo packs and cells, organized so you can move from here into the capacity range that matches your aircraft. Choosing by CapacityCapacity, measured in milliamp hours, largely sets how long a pack can fly and how much it weighs. Smaller packs suit micro and park models where weight is critical, while higher-capacity packs support larger airframes and longer flights. Cell count, written as 2S, 3S, and so on, sets the voltage the pack delivers. Matching a pack to your model means balancing capacity, voltage, and discharge rating against what the motor and speed control expect, along with the room and weight the airframe allows. Use the capacity subcategories to narrow down to the LiPo packs that fit your setup. |
