Radical RC Intern 66
The Intern 66 is our first entry into larger E-models. Under development for some time. Years of teaching experience was used to evolve the traditional trainer beyond yesterday's standards. As one of my clubs instructors for over a decade, I've developed a real joy for teaching RC and a good knowledge of what works best. Additionally, one of my favorite forms of flying is to take a trainer and thoroughly wring it out showing how exciting and aerobatic this kind of model can be. For the Intern 66 project, I wanted the perfect trainer that was also capable outpacing any trainer I ever flew in the aerobatic department. This kit is the successful result of our efforts to arrive at such a goal.
Power me with any Power system in the 300 to 700 watt range turning 10-13" props and pitch speeds at 60mph or less.
The "US Army" model pictured foreground is setup 5 degree dihedral with GWS outrunner #007, 983 KV, 3S 3200 pack and weighs 3.33lbs. (52oz). Any of the props below would be good depending on the power level your seeking. This model feels like a perfect trainer in flight (except I have my throws a little higher than you'd use for instructing) and is capable of barnstorming aerobatics enough to satisfy anybody. In fact, it will just hold a knife edge with minimum mixing. I fly it currently with a 12-8 APC-E prop and it has unlimited vertical early in the pack. However, I like it best for it's reasonably powerful yet "on the wing" aerobatic capability. She is really sweet! For a student, use this setup with 11-5.5 or 11-7 until they are ready to handle more power. The power "IS" in the prop you know. < p>
11-5.5, 28.7A, 323 watts, 43mph Pitch Speed, 50oz thrust, Max climb 1542 ft/nin @47 degrees.
11-7, 33.2A, 374 watts, 53mph Pitch Speed, 54oz thrust, Max climb 1790 ft/nin @51 degrees.
12-6, 36.9A, 415 watts, 43mph Pitch Speed, 59oz thrust, Max climb 1938 ft/nin @58 degrees.
12-8, 43A, 484 watts, 54mph Pitch Speed, 63oz thrust, Max climb 2208 ft/nin @64 degrees.
The Navy Trainer shown background is setup 1 degree dihedral, GWS 008 Outrunner 842 KV, 4S 3000 pack. Weight 3.5lbs (56oz.). This is my brutal stump pulling setup. I fly it currently with a 12-6 prop. As you might imagine from the spec's below it's near pattern like, only slightly heavier and vertical is no problem here. More power than I was originally planning for this kit. We put it together to test the lower dihedral and a power system that I thought nobody would ever want to exceed. Note, with 1 degree dihedral, yaw is pure like a pattern ship, Ailerons must be employed to execute a roll or turn. This is truly brute powerful and outside of where I think most people will like this model best, however I present it here for your consideration along with all probable props you might use here.
10-5, 24.9A, 374 watts, 50mph Pitch Speed, 56oz thrust, Max climb 1535 ft/nin @42 degrees.
11-5.5, 34.7A, 521 watts, 51mph Pitch Speed, 73oz thrust, Max climb 2171 ft/nin @58 degrees.
12-6, 45.5A, 683 watts, 52mph Pitch Speed, 89oz thrust, Max climb 2807 ft/nin @90 degrees.
Over time, consumers have been slowly trained to accept heavier and heavier trainers in the ho-hum 40 size ARF trainer market. Our Intern 66 smashes today's bloated trainers and sets a new weight standard far superior to even yesterdays finest hand built kits. I've often helped modelers trying to convert 40 size models with 3S power systems. This is usually a big error because the watts per pound you need to get good performance is nearly impossible to obtain in most cases. Here the model is so exceptionally low in weight that you can easily make the "common mistake" a super successful combination here. Never fear, even my lowest wattage setup above will outperform the average glow trainer. I've not listed any slouch setups here.

FlowMeter II
Ever wonder if your battery charger is working correctly? Ever wonder what the real output rate of your factory wall charger is? The FlowMeter from Peak Electronics will tell you this and more when placed between your charger and your battery pack. Gives readouts for Voltage, Current and Total Mah put back into the battery. FlowMeter I is useful up to 2 amps of flow, FlowMeter II is useful up to 4.5 amps flow. Use on any voltage battery up to 16V. This device is manufactured primarily for the purpose of charging diagnostics and is intended to be used between a charger and a battery pack (or switch harness of course) however it is very useful for other purposes explained with adapters descriptions below.
Radical RC optional Gender Bender Adapter set allows placement between your battery and RX to determine power usage by your airborne RX and servo system. Because the battery is now the source, a gender reversal of the output wires is required.
Radical RC optional Signal Wire Adapter allows you to place unit between your RX (or servo driver) and your servo (or multiple servos on Y to a single control surface or function) and check power usage on that channel. For example, if a servo is getting warm or you have suspicions that one elevator 1/2 servo or one Aileron might be working harder than the other for some reason, you can use this device with the optional adapter to really find out what's going on in terms of total energy usage taking measurements on the bench or in flight.

Fromeco Kodiak High Output Switch Silver
Designed with the new A123, Lithium Phosphate or (LiFePO4) batteries in mind the Kodiak switch from Fromeco is capable of 30amps continuous service. The Kodiak also utilizes a LED graphical read out that counts milliamps used out of the battery that it is controlling. Kodiak can also be used with Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer, Nicad, and NiMH with in appropriate voltage ranges. The Switch acts as both the units power ON/OFF, and also the mA Counter Reset. The mA counter is simple and easy to reset, a simple ON, OFF, ON in quick succession will reset the mA counter to 0 and your ready for a fresh battery. The Kodiak is an electrical switch, or what many would call a "Fail Safe" switch. It does draw small amount of energy in the OFF position.
On the right you see our mA counter digits. Fromeco uses LED 7 segment displays for our read out, they have proven to be robust small and very lite.
Includes Unfinished Aluminum Face Plate, "Can be polished to a high luster by end user" and mounting fasteners. The switch read out can be used as a sort of "fuel gauge" indicator of mA's that have drained from your Rx battery pack.

Wright Stick Conversion Kit
Did you ever get to see a Wright Flyer fly? Did you ever dream that someday you'd get to wiggle the wings on a Wright machine? I'm betting during all those many months of testing, planning, designing our famous Wrights went to bed wondering what it would be like. Then they did it. Now, you can do it. This conversion kit combined with the parts from two GWS Slow Stick slope glider kits will produce a sport scale 1905 Wright Flyer. This model from the side view is scale having all the struts the original had. Omitted are all the flying wires and control cables. All the fiddly bits included on a perfect scale model (that break every time you land one) are gone. My intention was to design a model you could fly 10 times in a day if you liked and not once or twice a year for special occasions as you'd probably choose to do with a pure scale model.
How does it work? If you look close you can see our unobtrusive elevator servo (we used a GWS Pico) on the canard support strut. This servo drives the top canard which intern drives the bottom canard through a simple transfer rod. The canards move up and down together on their own individual pivots much like the original 1905 flyer. The rudder servo is adhered to the bottom of the bottom wing with a Dubro Micro Push rod (1/32 wire in clear plastic tube) driving the rudder. The rudder moves like the original 1905, both together. Perhaps the most exciting feature is this model flys with real wing warping. The outside wing strut assembly has a servo hidden under the bottom wing driving a diagonal rod that appears to be a simple bracing rod in the scale location. Forget the Eindecker like wings, wouldn't it be gross if this model didn't turn by real wing warping? You're going to love this feature every time you show how it works.
How does it fly? I was amazed, after some initial hiccups working out the right setup. We've refined CG and throws until it flies more or less like you'd expect a trainer to fly. It is a bit draggy so you tend to fly with a middle throttle position most of the time and you will want to be comfortable flying with both hands as this design likes rudder inputs. However, you'll soon agree it flies like a trainer. Provided in the kit is the CG you need along with servo horn lengths, control throws and even exactly where to trim the canard for that first flight.
How does it build? This is not a normal kit, it's mostly nut and bolting with some foam trimming and fitting here and there a little gluing and some finishing (staining). If like me, your favorite ever childhood toy was an Erector set, your about to feel young again! Now I know you hated those square nuts and slot head screws (I did) so I included all hex wrench driven button heads and ny-lock nuts. I'm not one to figure the cost going in but rather to design something the best I can and then see what it costs to produce. There is a surprising amount of aircraft ply in this kit. The main structure starts out as a 24"x24" section of 1/8" thick air ply (cuts slower on a laser) and it's packed tightly with many parts. Needless to say, there is a lot of laser cutting time here. It's has the longest hardware list of any kit I've ever designed and the longest instruction set I've ever written including several drawings/templates. Ron who built both of our in-house prototype models said he needs 3 work days to complete one. So, please plan enough time, it's very important to us that you actually finish it and get it flying. I want to hear the joy in your voice and see the pride on your face when you tell me about it at the next show.
Whats included? All the hardware needed that isn't already in the Slow Stick kits is included here. All fasteners are good quality allen head with lock nuts. There are 88 washers and you can guess how many nuts and bolts. Add your motors (max 2oz, 800-1100 KV), 2 ESC's, APC counter rotating prop set, electronics (2 each 6 gram servos, 2 each 20oz torque servos (we used HB-65's)), and 1 3S battery 1800-2200mah.

Slow Stick Twin Adjustable Motor Mount Kit
Look in Kits - Slow Stick Hopups; for all of our cool Slow Stick hop ups!
Direct Link: Slow Stick Hop Ups.
At last, an easy and low cost high performance Slow Stick Twin. Gone are the days of strapping a heavy boom to the bottom of the wing with the resulting up thrust and Ill handling. You can have a twin and have it fly correctly! With the Radical RC twin conversion kit you can make any Slow Stick into a twin. Yes, you can even make it into a 4 engine WWI Faux Bomber if you wish. Our kit does not alter your wing in any way, attaches with simple rubber bands so you can always alter or return to a prior configuration if you like. Of course, you can cut the tail off this mount and glue them into your wing for a permanent band free installation if desired.
Each kit comes with 2 mounts and high quality socket head fasteners.
For those wanting to configure a forward looking still or movie camera setup without prop interference, you've just gained an excellent option.
Check drop downs for motor and ESC combo specials to go with this item.
Combo A-Brushed = 2 each 370-B gearbox's and motors, GWS 480 ESC, 2 JWT female pigtails & 1 set of GWS 8-4 x3 Blade Counter Rotating props. This set will provide excellent performance with straight up climb yet speed controlled just right for the Slow Stick. Wide open throttle time should be limited to 30 seconds, current will be about 10 amps per motor at WOT, max continuous is 8 amps. Who would have ever thought you could setup a high performance twin so inexpensively! Don't assume brushed setups can't be high performance, this system will really rock!
COMBO-B-Brushless = 2 each GWS 002 Outrunner, 2 GWS 28mm outrunner mounts, 2 Brushless ESC's, 2 sets 3.5mm bullets & 1 set of GWS 8-4 x3 Blade Counter Rotating props. Although bullet like connectors come with the GWS motor, anybody with an ounce of sense changes them to real gold bullets. This setup performs nearly identical to the brushed above for a few amps lower draw.
All COMBO choices require soldering your harness together with parts provided. Your 3S generally 1000-2100 size pack is required. Deans or Anderson Power Poles are suggested between ESC and battery. Solder both ESC's to one input plug.

RRC Slow Stick Adjustable Motor Mount
Look in Kits - Slow Stick Hopups; for all of our cool Slow Stick hopups!
: Direct Link: Slow Stick Hop Ups.
The GWS Slow Stick is a fun model right out of the box in stock configuration. Adding an adjustable thrust line motor stick allows you to trim in down and right thrust to suit. Imagine going from cruise to wide open throttle and the model does not automatically go into a loop! Makes the aircraft much smoother and more trim neutral whether flying around or doing whacked out 3 channel aerobatics. Comes in an easy build laser cut kit. All fasteners and washers included. Good SAE socket head fasteners. Simply build the kit, remove your motor mount from the GWS motor stick, slide our mount on, bolt to fuse, put your motor mount on the adjustable stick and run the bolt through. Now do some trial flights and adjust to taste. Allows for thrust lines from 0-8 degrees down and 0-3 degrees right. Also useful for Millinium RC SSX and SS Trainer kits. Fantastic addition to any Slow Stick being used as teaching aids as the thrust line may be adjusted to demonstrate effects. Also useful for Sticks turned into Canards as it works just perfect in pusher configuration also.
